MI’s Associate of Arts Degree offers students extensive vocational training in Bass, Drum, Guitar, Keyboard Technology or Vocal. Topics in Harmony, Theory and Ear Training are explored in extensive depth through Reading, Technique and Performance on the chosen instrument.

ASSOCIATE OF ARTS // COMBINED EMPHASIS
4 QTRS IN PERFORMANCE STUDIES & 2 QTRS IN ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY STUDIES*
With additional training, students can choose to earn an Associate of Arts Degree with a Combined Emphasis in Performance and Entertainment Industry Studies. Enhancing the instrumental performance education of a regular Associate of Arts Degree, graduates attain specialization in their choice of Audio Engineering, DJ Performance & Production, Independent Artist, Guitar Craft or Music Business.
The intensive A.A. curriculum prepares musicians to perform in any professional situation, along with learning professional development skills such as basic computer use, EPK creation, resume and bio writing, and social media as a tool for business and networking. The Associate of Arts Degree is intended to equip students with the knowledge and training needed to become professional performers in today’s music industry

DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
Musicians Institute programs are fast paced and certain fundamental musical skills are required before you can begin your program. If you meet entry requirements and are accepted, a one-on-one performance evaluation and placement testing will be held during registration to determine whether you qualify for advanced placement in any area of course work. You are evaluated based on the content of your submission. The sound quality of your recording is not a factor. (Recordings will not be returned)
Certificate in Performance requirements for each instrument are equivalent to the first four quarters of the respective Associate of Arts in Performance. Specific requirements and regulations apply to enrollment in certificate programs.
