PRACTICAL LIVE MUSIC EVENT PRODUCTION EXPERIENCE
Live Music Event Production (LMEP) offers an immersive learning experience in professional live musical and live event productions, with classes in sound reinforcement, engineering, stage work, lighting, video, rigging, live broadcast, and staging.
Using state-of-the-industry equipment, students learn how to put their techniques into practice for live shows and events with the conventions of sound reinforcement engineering. To make sure engineers are well-rounded in their careers, students in the LMEP program are taught the contractual elements of live shows, the deals and players behind the scenes, and all aspects of planning to execution for live shows and events.
LMEP instructors are working industry professionals, who mentor students in practical, hands-on live music scenarios. For the hands-on live event classes, fellow MI performance students act as on stage talent, highlighting the unique collaboration opportunities available at MI.
CERTIFICATE IN LIVE EVENT MUSIC PRODUCTION
A certificate in Live Event Music Production will allow graduates to handle any aspect of working a live music show or live event, from lighting and video tech, to console operations, monitor setups, sound reinforcement, event contracts, stage managing and more. This certificate will hold classes in multiple venues at M.I. so they will be ready to work at any venue in L.A. and beyond.
MI SELECT & NON-CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS
MI Select are non-certificate programs designed to provide students with “a taste of MI” if they want another option to full-time. Students can create their own customized schedule from available classes and workshops, while enjoying access to the special guest clinics, extra activities and other industry networking opportunities.
