Every year, Musicians Institute is so proud our alumni and current students step outside of the classroom and book gigs and tours on some of the coolest stages around the country, and the world.
We believe that this real world experience is what will make MI alumni stand out in the music industry, and we wanted to shout out the MI musicians who will be playing at Coachella 2019!
The 2019 Coachella line-up was announced a few weeks ago, and we immediately noticed the name of Anderson .Paak, a Drum program alum who has been having one the best years of his career. (He won a Grammy!)
Anderson will be performing at the festival on Friday, and he earned himself a top three line billing, which is quite an accomplishment! Also joining him are MI alums, Jose Rios (Guitar) and Ron Avant (Keyboard), who are part of his Free Nationals band.

Etti Bowen, another Drum program alum, will be playing on stage with electronic music star, Kayzo, also on Friday.
The band Weezer, who play on Saturday, also boasts three MI alum, Rivers Cuomo, Scott Shriner, and Brian Bell.
