Jordan Smith is originally from San Luis Obispo, California, and grew up playing guitar and playing in his band back home, The Simple Society. He always had a big passion for music but found the call of playing and going to school in Los Angeles too difficult to resist. Jordan enrolled at MI immediately following his high school graduation, saying he didn’t want to waste anymore time in not being in Hollywood, a city where everything happens in.

He graduated from the Music Business program in 2015 and after a short stint back home to play with his band, moved back to L.A. for a touring assistant internship with LVRN Records for Junia Abaidoo (one of the label’s co-founders.) He also took advantage of his MI connections, and found work as an assistant at LaFamos PR & Branding for Hunter Scott, a former marketing teacher at MI. Currently, he is working at Red Light Management as an assistant to Moe Shalizi (manager for Marshmello, Slushii, Jauz, Southside & more.)

Jordan says of the MI Music Business program,

”Everything I have achieved so far is because I have put myself out there, meshed with the right people and had the drive and passion it takes. MI taught me a lot about so many aspects of the business, but without that advice from so many teachers, I would not be where I am today.”

The first step in applying to any MI program is to complete an Application for Admission, and get started with the best music college!
