MI SUCCESS STORY: BISHOP BRIGGS

Vocal Program, 2014

Bishop Briggs, born Sarah McLaughlin, was born to Scottish parents in London and had a diverse and rich upbringing in Tokyo and Hong Kong. Deciding to pursue music after honing her passion throughout her child and teenhood, she moved to Los Angeles in 2015 to study at Musicians Institute in the Vocal Program.

While playing shows in Los Angeles, she met an A&R representative who introduced her to producers who would work on her first single, “Wild Horses.” In January of 2016, she released “River,” which would become a big commercial success, reaching the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot Rock chart that summer.

Since then, Bishop has performed around the world and some of the biggest venues and television shows in the country, including Coachella and opening for Coldplay. After success with her singles, she will be releasing her debut full-length album, Church of Scars, on April 20, 2018.
