MI SUCCESS STORY: ANNA BEATRIZ

An alumna of MI’s Vocal program, Anna Beatriz came to Hollywood from Santos, Brazil. She won the Outstanding Student Award at MI, and soon after Anna debuted her EP, Beautiful Ride in 2013. The album won the singer-songwriter a Silver Medal in the Outstanding Achievement category of The Global Music Awards for her Latin jazz recording. Combining the sounds of her Brazilian roots with modern pop and jazz sensibilities, Anna’s EP was described by Music Connection as “an intoxicating suite of songs with a sophisticated musicality and an effervescent warmth.” Anna staged the Beautiful Ride release event at one of the most prestigious venues in L.A., the Catalina Jazz Club.

Since then, Anna has worked with multiple Grammy and Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire) on the title song, “Ginga,” for the film, Pele: Birth of a Legend. The film, a biopic about the Brazilian soccer legend was screened at the Tribeca Film Festival and the song was chosen to be eligible for an Oscar nomination. Anna is working on continuing to create new music in the world of film, television and theatre.
