Live the life of a Hollywood musician this summer! Summer Shot is a one-week music day camp where musicians age 12+ come to learn, create, and perform in the heart of the entertainment industry. Hosted at Musicians Institute’s Hollywood campus, Summer Shot gives teen and young adult musicians the opportunity to train with experienced instructors, use pro studios, and collaborate with other young musicians.

WHAT IS SUMMER SHOT?
Summer Shot is a one-week music day camp in Los Angeles for musicians ages 12 and up who want real experience in performance or music production.
You will spend your week:
- Playing music with other young musicians
- Creating original tracks

MUSIC PERFORMANCE DAY CAMP

Develop your skills, collaborate with other musicians, and perform live in Hollywood. At this music performance day camp, teen and young adult students spend the week rehearsing, writing, and preparing for a final live concert on the MI stage. Throughout the program, students work closely with MI instructors while building confidence, musicianship, and performance experience in a supportive and creative environment.

MUSIC PRODUCTION & RECORDING DAY CAMP
June 22–26, 2026 | Hollywood, Los Angeles
Learn how music is written, recorded, and produced in professional Los Angeles studios. This music production day camp gives teen and young adult students hands-on experience with recording, beat making, songwriting, and digital music production using industry-standard software and equipment. Throughout the week, students collaborate on creative projects while learning how modern music is produced from start to finish.
Hands-On Studio Experience
Production students spend dedicated time in Musicians Institute’s professional recording studios alongside MI faculty and Audio Engineering instructors. Students have the opportunity to direct recording sessions, work with studio musicians, and experience the recording process from the producer’s perspective.
Students Will Learn
- Create beats and tracks from scratch
- Record vocals and instruments
- Learn mixing and basic mastering
- Use MIDI, plugins, and virtual instruments
- Build songs you can actually share
- DIY promotion and social media basics
Production Camp Includes
- Studio recording sessions
- Group labs and collaborative projects
- Audio files of completed student work
- Final showcase opportunities during the Friday concert

FINAL PERFORMANCE & SHOWCASE
All Summer Shot students participate in the program’s final Friday showcase in Hollywood. Performance students rehearse and perform live on stage in MI’s Concert Hall, while Music Production & Recording students have the opportunity to present original music created during the week. This final event gives students a chance to apply what they learned in a real performance environment and celebrate their work with fellow musicians, instructors, and families.
LEARN FROM EXPERIENCED MI INSTRUCTORS
Summer Shot students train with experienced musicians, producers, and educators from Musicians Institute’s Hollywood campus. Instructors include performers, recording artists, audio engineers, and independent musicians who actively work in the music industry and specialize in helping young musicians grow creatively and technically. Throughout the week, students receive hands-on instruction, personalized guidance, and opportunities to collaborate in both performance and production settings.
