Performance
Some individuals are meant to be on stage and want to learn how to take their performance skills to the next level. At MI, we offer a wide range of programs focused on performance.
No matter what performance program you choose, you’ll experience a unique combination of contemporary music performance and traditional music disciplines. The curriculum is intensive and exciting. You’ll have endless opportunities to develop your stylistic depth, creative maturity, and professional competence. Whether you’re looking to DJ or you’re looking to hone in on your keyboarding skills, we got you covered.
Production
Behind the scenes is where the magic happens. From audio engineering to music composition, you’re sure to find a production program to fit your passions and interests.
With a degree focused on music production, you’ll be able to learn how to work with artists in the studio and help them reach the final product. A degree in music production can also help you land a job in visual media, such as film, television, animation, and video games.
Management
If you’re passionate about the music industry but want to explore the business side of things, our music business professional program might be a great fit for you. Throughout the program, you’ll get hands-on training and interactive learning experiences that will help you prepare for the real world.

Degrees we offer at MI
Master of Music
We offer a comprehensive master of music in performance for five different instruments. These include the electric bass, drums, guitar, keyboard, and vocals. Throughout your studies, you’ll get to experience advanced music performance training and study opportunities that will help you improve your skills in music history, theory, research skills, and much more.
Bachelor of Music
We offer a Bachelor of Music degree in performance, songwriting, composition, and production. All of our bachelor’s degrees require 30-semester units or 45 quarter units of coursework in general studies. Once you graduate, you’ll have all the tools you need to find a career in music that’s right for you.
Associate of Arts
We offer an Associate of Arts in Performance and an Associate of Arts in Performance and Combined Emphasis. For the Combined Emphasis, you’ll take four quarters of performance and two quarters in entertainment industry studies. This intensive A.A. will prepare you for your professional career and give you the tools to succeed as a musician.
Associate of Science
We offer two Associate of Science degrees, one in studio recording and the other in the music business. Whether you’re looking to be a tour manager or a recording label, the curriculum is sure to prepare you for a job in the music industry, and give you a competitive edge.
Certificate
MI’s Certificate program provides a broad foundation of musical knowledge, technique, and practical experience. The skills you’ll learn during your studies will prepare you for any style of contemporary music performance.
