On Wednesday, February 8th, astonishing 17-string New Orleans "guitar-arp" player Phil De Gruy returns to GIT with his unique instrument for an afternoon concert/clinic demonstrating his virtuoso skills in the realm of solo guitar. Guitarist Steve Vai, himself no stranger to the outer orbits of guitar performance, describes De Gruy in glowing terms: "Phil's approach to the guitar sounds like John Coltrane meets Mel Brooks at a party for Salvador Dali. It's uncanny the way he has conjured up such an unorthodox way to attend to virtuosity".
