Comprehensive Training in Music & The Industry

At Musicians Institute, we believe that every musician’s path is unique. That’s why we offer a wide range of programs designed to prepare students for real-world success in today’s music industry. Whether your passion is performance, production, recording, or music business, our experienced instructors—who are also working industry professionals—bring firsthand expertise into the classroom.

During the Summer term, students can fast-track their studies with focused, hands-on learning, network with fellow musicians, producers, and industry professionals, hone their craft using cutting-edge facilities, recording studios, and performance spaces, and immerse themselves in the Hollywood music scene while studying at MI’s Campus.

MI Summer Programs

Musicians Institute offers four primary areas of study during the Summer term:

Music Performance

Master your instrument and refine your stage presence with expert-led instruction in contemporary styles such as rock, jazz, blues, R&B, and more.

Music Production & Recording

Gain hands-on experience with industry-standard software and professional recording studios, learning to produce, mix, and master tracks.

Music Industry

Develop business acumen in artist management, marketing, touring, and publishing—essential skills for navigating today’s evolving music landscape.

Alternative Programs

Explore customized learning paths, MI Select courses, and additional unique offerings.

Degrees & Certificates

Musicians Institute offers flexible degree and non-degree programs to accommodate students at all levels.

Certificate – Designed for focused, hands-on training.
Associate of Arts / Science – Comprehensive, industry-driven curriculum.
Bachelor of Music – A deeper exploration into performance or production.
Master of Music – Advanced studies for seasoned musicians.
Alternative Programs – Including non-degree and MI Select courses.

Students can choose between full-time study (15 credits per quarter) for an immersive experience or part-time study (7.5 credits per quarter) for a flexible approach. Program availability may vary between our Hollywood Campus and MI Online.

International Students

International students make up nearly one-fourth of MI’s total student population, representing more than 50 countries throughout the world. The International Student Office is dedicated to making the transition from each student’s home country to MI’s Hollywood campus as smooth and easy as possible.
