MI SUCCESS STORY: SOMMER COOKS

Just six months after graduating from the Independent Artist Program, MI alumnus and singer-songwriter Sommer Cooks recently signed with indie label CBFREE LA Entertainment. Performing as “The Lion Heart,” Sommer was nominated for a Modesto Area Music Award.

In March of 2017, The Lion Heart released her “Wise Eyes” EP on iTunes and other major streaming platforms. Sommer is a multi-hyphenate in her craft and also serves as the Vice President of FreeLA Records (FLAR). Along with her ongoing writing and performing, Sommer runs a Vlog on YouTube, where she shares her music videos, latest song covers and personal insights into being a musician in the industry.
