MI SUCCESS STORY: ROCKY SANDOVAL

Originally from Tacoma, Washington, Rocky Sandoval had a brief stint on American Idol season one in 2002, which solidified his passion for singing and performance. Ready to move to L.A. to pursue music, Rocky saw an ad for Musicians Institute, packed up all his things with only $25 in his bank account, and quickly found a job to pay for his tuition. While at MI, Rocky took full advantage of the vocal practice labs, and after graduating, continued to write and record his original music.

His soulful pop vocals have landed him spots on shows like MTV’s Making The Band and The Voice, which made him a well known name in the R&B circuit in his hometown. Eventually, Grammy Award winning producers The Stereotypes, known for Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic,” discovered Rocky and collaborated with him on his lead single “Still In Love,” out on major streaming sites now. Working hard over the past decade, Rocky is excited to release his untitled EP in early 2018.
