MI SUCCESS STORY: PHILIP PAULSEN

Philip Paulsen was born in Norway and moved to L.A. to attend Musician Institute’s Independent Artist Program. He graduated from the program in March of 2017 and soon after, found himself playing with some major bands on the road. Last year, he joined the roster of rock band Palaye Royale, a Canadian band who have scored a single on the Billboard Modern Rock charts. Together with Palaye Royale, Philip went on a one month tour with Sleeping With Sirens, performed at LA Fashion Week and played the band’s first headliner show in Europe, a sold-out show in London.

Philip is currently on a three-month American tour with the band as a guitar player, where they are supporting Pop Evil. After this tour, they will be playing the Rockville Festival with bands like the Foo Fighters, Stone Sour, and Ozzy Osbourne. In the beginning of 2018, Philip was in the studio with Palaye Royale recording their second album. Philip said,

I chose MI because I wanted to be where the heart of the music industry was. MI has a legendary reputation and offered me the independent artist program which was perfect for me and I haven’t seen any other school offer a similar program.
