Whether you’ve got a date or are flying solo this year, some live music usually sounds like a good idea. This 2020, we rounded up some Valentine’s Day concerts happening in Los Angeles so you can celebrate the day of love with something you love. 😉
With a city as big as L.A., it’s almost impossible to list EVERY single concert that is happening, but we tried to curate a little something our MI friends would enjoy. We’ve included some new indie bands, a little r&b, a little shoegaze, and a whole lot of love.
Go out and have some fun!

Dashboard Confessional: 20 Year Celebration
Alright, this show at The Wiltern might be for the single ones out there, or just the super emo couple. As in any Dashboard Confessional show, expect lots of heart wrenching lyrics and possibly a tear or two. But it’ll still be fun and nostalgic, at least.
Courtney Barnett & Friends
This Valentines Day, the Palace Theater is hosting Courtney Barnett to support legendary Newport Folk Festival for a special night of music…and surprise guests! This is the latest Newport Folk Revival to raise money for music education in underserved communities.
Jasper Bones with RoyalJag
Jasper Bones calls his music “Chicano wavy soul,” so you know it’s going to get romantic at The Roxy Theatre. He will be joined by band Royaljag, who make tracks influenced by R&B, funk, disco and pop. This might be a very good choice for those looking for a chill and groovy Valentine’s night.
Heaven or Los Angeles: My Bloody Valentine’s Day
Do you like dream pop, shoegaze, My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins, or Slowdive? Well, Zebulon is hosting My Bloody Valentine’s Day prom, for, in their words, “the lovebirds and loveless alike.”

This one is for the 80s and 90s babies who miss the Golden Age of R&B. The Valentine’s Love Jam at The Forum is bringing out the greatest hitters of the era, including Tyrese, Joe, Ginuwine, and more. Yes, the Tyrese that’s in the Fast & Furious movies. He sang once, and very good.
Fleetwood Mac vs ABBA: A Valentine’s Day Tribute Dance Party
The Satellite is hosting a special Fleetwood Mac vs. ABBA Dance Party. Switching between upbeat pop disco tracks and lowkey, chill Yacht Rock vibes might confuse your body, but hey, isn’t that how love is anyway?
Mayer Hawthorne’s show at The Troubadour is recently sold out BUT it’s worth keeping your eyes out on socials because he might release some more as he did throughout this week.
