This past weekend, the legendary Vans Warped Tour made its triumphant return and Musicians Institute was right in the heart of it. With a packed crowd, electrifying sets, and a booth buzzing with fans, it was a weekend to remember. Even more exciting? Two powerhouse bands with MI alumni—New Years Day and Honey Revenge—took the stage, showing the world exactly what it means to turn passion into a profession.

At the MI booth, fans gathered for exclusive signings with Nikki Misery (guitar) and Tommy Villain (drums) of New Years Day, and Devon Papadol, frontwoman of Honey Revenge. All three are proud Musicians Institute alumni, and their journeys from the classrooms of Hollywood to major festival stages are nothing short of inspiring. We also hosted legendary band Body Count for a special signing with fans!

It was surreal watching Nikki shred through his high-energy performance with New Years Day, knowing he honed his skills in MI’s Guitar Program. His stage presence and fierce riffs had the crowd going wild—a true display of how far dedication and professional training can take you.

Tommy Villain, commanding the drums with explosive energy, was equally captivating. As a graduate of MI’s Drum Program, Tommy’s precision and power were unmistakable. Seeing him and Nikki perform together on such a massive platform was a full-circle moment for us and a testament to the friendships and creative partnerships that often start right here at MI.

Then there was Honey Revenge, fronted by the dynamic Devon Papadol, an alum of MI’s Independent Artist Program. Devon’s infectious energy and powerful vocals had fans dancing and singing along, solidifying her place as one of the most exciting new voices in alternative pop-rock. Her band’s set proved that being an “independent artist” today means more than going solo—it means leading, branding, and performing at the top of your game.

Back at our booth, the vibe was electric. Fans lined up for signings, selfies, and a chance to connect with the artists they admire. Devon, Nikki, and Tommy were gracious and engaging, taking time with every person who stopped by. We also captured some exclusive behind-the-scenes photos from their performances and signings, which we’ll be sharing on our social media and website—so stay tuned!

For us at Musicians Institute, weekends like this are more than just events—they’re proof. Proof that the long hours in the practice rooms, the creative breakthroughs in our studios, and the hard work our students put in every day pay off. Watching our alumni live their dreams, playing to thousands of fans, is why we do what we do.

If you’re a musician dreaming of the big stage, let this be your sign. Nikki, Tommy, and Devon were once students walking the same halls you’re considering now. They took their shot—and they’re making it count. You can too.
