TOM PLUMB

Tom grew up with an interest in playing the drums. From an early age he pursued his passion for music with private lessons, and school music programs such as jazz, concert, and marching band.

Tom’s interest in drumming eventually lead him to more intense rudimental studies. In 1999 he was chosen to be a member of the Concord Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps. As a snare drummer for the world champion group, Tom was able to tour the US extensively, as well as Japan and Europe.

After drum corps, Tom received a full tuition scholarship to CSU Fresno to play drum set for the school’s Basketball band. While at CSUF he was also a member of the marching band and jazz band. Upon graduating from Fresno State with a bachelor’s
degree in business/marketing, Tom moved back home to Sacramento where he began to peruse a career in music.

In 2005 Tom was hired as a private drum teacher for Skip’s Music where he carried over 30 students per week. He also honed his teaching skills instructing drumlines for the Blue Devils “B” Drum and Bugle Corps, Sacramento Freelancers (WGI) and the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps.

In 2007 Tom moved to Los Angeles where he currently resides. He stays busy teaching at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, and working as a freelance musician.
