This unit explores the structure and sound of natural minor scales and their related arpeggios, building a strong foundation in melodic awareness and fingerboard familiarity. Students will learn to construct, play, and apply natural minor scales in various keys, while developing smooth, accurate arpeggio execution. The concept of the melodic fifth will be introduced to enhance phrasing, melodic contour, and interval recognition. Through guided exercises and repertoire, learners will strengthen both their technical control and expressive musicality.

The course also covers the construction and sound of major, minor, dominant, and diminished seventh chords, with practical exercises in writing, identifying, and performing them.
