This course builds on foundational guitar skills to help students develop a deeper understanding of harmony, melody, and fretboard navigation. Through focused study of triads and melodic intervals, students will learn how to create richer melodic lines and more dynamic chord voicings. Exploration of the natural minor and pentatonic scales, along with their corresponding arpeggios, will enhance improvisational fluency and soloing ability. Students will also be introduced to chord inversions and seventh chords—essential tools for crafting more expressive rhythm and lead parts. By integrating these concepts through practical exercises and musical examples, participants will strengthen their technical control, ear training, and creative confidence on the instrument.

- Identify and play triads, melodic intervals, and chord inversions across the guitar fretboard.
- Apply natural minor and pentatonic scales, along with their arpeggios, in melodic and improvisational contexts.
- Construct and perform basic seventh chords to enrich harmonic expression.
- Integrate triads, scales, and arpeggios to create cohesive rhythm and lead guitar parts.
- Demonstrate improved fretboard awareness, technical control, and aural recognition of harmonic and melodic structures.
