
CHRISTIAN DUBEAU
Christian’s music ranges from acoustic and electro-acoustic works for chamber ensembles, fixed media compositions, works for solo instruments, music for film, and concert works for orchestra. He is the recipient of three Gluck Fellowships for the Arts. Recent commissions include a guitar concerto for the Orchestra Society of Philadelphia and a film score for a silent movie showcase.
Christian is also an accomplished pianist and music teacher. As a pianist, he frequently performs his music and the music of other contemporary composers in public. He also played keyboards with his rock band for many years, touring throughout the United States. Christian holds BAs in music and theater from the University of Southern California, an MFA in music from UC Irvine, and a PhD from UC Riverside. He has been an instructor at Musicians Institute since 2018, where he teaches a wide array of subjects such as composition for visual media, theory, music history, and orchestration.
