On May 22-23, LA’s legendary Baked Potato Jazz Club celebrates its 40th anniversary with a spectacular All Star Festival to be held at the John Anson Ford Amphitheater. The artist lineup will feature a variety of MI staff instructors, visiting artists, and grads including guitarists Scott Henderson and Jeff Richman, keyboardist Russ Ferrante, drummer Joel Taylor, and bassists Jimmy Haslip, John Humphrey, and Travis Carlton.

MI students are eligible for a $25 per ticket discount; contact MI's Student Services Department for a discount code to use when purchasing tickets at www.thebakedpotato.com.

The festival lineup showcases a number of renowned artists who got their start at the Baked Potato (including six GRAMMY award winners). Scheduled to perform are Larry Carlton, Yellowjackets, Steve Lukather, Lee Ritenour, The Jazz Ministry, The Michael Landau Group, Don Randi and Quest, Patrice Rushen, Ernie Watts, John Daversa Big Band, The Baked Potato All Stars, O.H.M, Scott Henderson Trio, VOLTO!, Holdsworth/Pasqua/Haslip/Novak, and Mitch Forman & The B.P. All-Stars.

“This Baked Potato Jazz Fest is very appropriate, celebrating 40 years of great vibes and great music," said multi-GRAMMY winner Larry Carlton. "I have wonderful memories of my gigs at the Potato starting in the mid ‘70s and into the ‘80s. That little room has an atmosphere that lets the music fly from player to player and out to the listeners. I'm proud to be part of the celebration."
