The original Woodstock Music Festival in 1969 was an iconic moment in music history, where over 400,000 music fans got together and ushered in the growing counterculture movement. Music has always been closely tied to society, identity and politics, and it only makes sense that Woodstock would come back for another hurrah.
To celebrate its 50th anniversary, co-founder Michael Lang announced the line-up of Woodstock 2019, which will take place at Watkins Glen, New York from August 16-18, and the line-up is, well, very diverse.
While the original Woodstock and 1999 version had an overwhelmingly rock-leaning lineup, Woodstock 2019 will feature bands and artists in the realm of rock or indie, along with hip-hop and pop, including MI Vocal program alum Bishop Briggs, Santana, Robert Plant, Miley Cyrus, Jay-Z, Janelle Monáe, Halsey and more.
