Musicians Institute is very excited to announce that we are launching a new Associate of Science degree program, Live Music Event Production! If you’ve already taken the 2-quarter Audio Engineering program, even with the Live Sound Emphasis, this new program will take you to the next level in live sound and focus on all of the ins and outs of working at a live music venue or setting up audio for live events.
Being in Los Angeles, live music and event production can be a lucrative career, with so many iconic venues, theaters and festivals looking for fresh new hands to put on the best events in the city. Live Music Event Production offers an immersive learning experience, with classes in sound reinforcement engineering, stage work, lighting, rigging, live broadcast, and staging.
Several of our courses will take place at the Live House, a newly constructed, state-of-the-industry, 300 capacity live venue. Using state-of-the-industry equipment, students learn about the major audio/video/broadcast components, techniques, and conventions of engineering live musical performances and events, including contractual elements of live shows from deals and planning to execution.
If you thrive off of live music and events and want to find a fulfilling career in the music industry, check out MI’s Live Music Event Production program! We are confident you will find what you are looking for.
