Los Angeles, CA – May 13, 2025 — Musicians Institute, College of Contemporary Music, is proud to announce the launch of MI Commons, a brand-new student-facing gathering space opening in Fall 2025. The new MI Commons, located on MI’s Hollywood campus, reflects the college’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the student experience through improved access, connection, and campus culture.
Located in the heart of campus, the MI Commons will include:
- A vibrant student café
- A flexible outdoor performance stage
- A cluster of key administrative support offices to streamline student services
- Comfortable, open seating and study areas designed for community and collaboration
This bold initiative is part of MI’s broader efforts to create a more connected and student-centered environment. Beginning Fall 2025, all MI facilities will operate 24/7, giving students unrestricted access to practice rooms, study spaces, and creative resources. MI Commons will serve as a central hub during these extended hours—promoting a safer, more engaging, and fully supported on-campus experience.
“MI Commons is more than just a new space,” said MI President Todd Berhorst. “It’s a reflection of our belief that students deserve round-the-clock support, inspiration, and community. This project moves us toward a campus culture where students feel heard, connected, and equipped to succeed.”
