Musicians Institute Associate of Arts in Guitar alum (and current Bachelor student,) David Macias, has been featured on Music Connection, in an article highlighting his successful and diverse career in the entertainment industry since graduating.
Macias was born in Mexico and raised in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles. He told Music Connection of where he heard of MI:
“Growing up, we’d take the Metro to Hollywood and I would see Musicians Institute. At a point in my music career where I was feeling defeated, I walked into MI and talked to an admissions rep. When I found out the quarter was starting in two weeks, I moved to Hollywood where I could use the G.I. Bill for school.”
Macias has been singer, songwriter and guitarist for bands that make up a huge array of genres, from ska, Celtic, mariachi and rock. Macias proudly blends all of his influences in his music and live shows, which have led him to release his self-titled EP.
