Robert Nathan began his entertainment industry career in the 1950’s in television and on stage as an actor and singer, and even as a passable dancer. During the late 1960’s and through the 1970’s, he transitioned away from performance into production, writing, and later to management and law, shifting from West Coast to East Coast to Europe, and eventually back home to L.A.
With over sixty years experience throughout the entertainment industry, and over a quarter century in Business Affairs and Legal Affairs for major-distribution record labels and for stage, television, and film production companies, Mr. Nathan is the author of numerous books on those subjects, including The Business Affairs Glossary, Music Law Basics, and the …but where do I sign? series on music industry law and contracts.
For the past fourteen years, Mr. Nathan has brought his entertainment industry and legal expertise to designing and teaching courses in the Music Business Program at the Musicians Institute College of Contemporary Music in Hollywood.
