As one of Musicians Institute’s newest faculty additions, Kathleen Walter serves as a fresh perspective, specializing in pop, top-40, hip/hop, R&B, EDM and country styles. She recently earned her Bachelor of Music from Belmont University in Nashville, TN with a Double Emphasis in Vocal Performance and Music Business and was chosen as one of the four performing artists to represent her Alma Mater at its annual Urban/Pop Showcase in 2013.
Kathleen was hand-selected as one of the 14 songwriters to attend ASCAP’s prestigious Lester Sill Songwriters Workshop and continues to be very active in the songwriting community. Her most notable collaborations to date include Rob Hoffman (Christina Aguilera, Michael Jackson), Griffin Boice (Black Eyed Peas), Dave Aude (Pussycat Dolls), Eddie Galan (Akon, O-Town, Daddy Yankee), Chase Foster (Nick Jonas), Evrywhr (LeCrae) and GRAMMY and OSCAR-nominated songwriters Lisa Harriton and Josh Bartholomew. Her time outside of the classroom is spent working on her upcoming solo project, which is set to release later this year.
