In addition to his varying roles at Musicians Institute, Devin Kelly works as a studio percussionist for Cinesamples & Sonicsmiths, sampling software companies based in Los Angeles. Their products are used by many leading television, film and video game composers/arrangers including Riot Games & the “League of Legends” video game series.
As a live performance artist, Mr. Kelly has shared the stage with Clark Terry, Bob Brookmeyer, Barry Harris, Gary Foster, Bob Sheppard, Bill Cunliffe, Bobby Militello, Peter Bernstein, Larry Koonse, Mark Soskin, Stacy Rowles, Sam Most, John Campbell, Julie Kelly & Judy Wexler, among other jazz luminaries. Notable performance venues include The Blue Note NYC, Chris’ Jazz Cafe in Philadelphia, Lighthouse Cafe in Hermosa Beach, and the Rochester and Dubai Jazz Festivals.
Mr. Kelly has toured internationally as an orchestra member for several Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, the most recent being “Barry Manilow’s Copacabana”, produced by Windwood Theatricals Inc.
Many of Devin’s students have been featured on television shows airing on NBC, ABC, FOX & CBS, a long with films produced by Sony Pictures, Focus Features and Sidney Kimmel Entertainment. In addition to Musicians Institute, Mr. Kelly has also served on the music faculties of Cornell University & Cypress College.
