Wagner Fulco Launches Wava Records

|    Jul 01, 2010

Wagner Fulco (Guitar ’95) has launched Wava Records, an outgrowth of his highly successful Wavaflow Studios in Hollywood, with plans to release an album by his new project Skeetox that pairs Wagner with DJ Skee.

Wagner is a living symbol of the “American Dream” – he arrived at MI from Sao Paolo with barely a word of English, and after graduating one year later launched directly into a career as a successful Hollywood-based studio owner, performer, engineer, producer and composer.

Wagner’s first break came soon after completing MI when he began performing with guitar icon Steve Vai and worked in his studios for almost three years. His playing career (under the name Swagner) expanded to include work with Antonio Banderas, Ricky Martin, DJ Skee, Snoop Dogg and more. Today he owns beautiful WavaFlow Studios, where he has produced and engineered dozens of projects for such A-list artists as Bob Dylan, Elton John, Alanis Morissette, Placido Domingo, Sting, and Alice in Chains. As a composer, his soundtrack contributions include “Living la Vida Loca” from Shrek 2, sung by Antonio Banderas as the voice of “Puss in Boots.”

Recalling his MI experience, Wagner said, “Studying at MI and seeing so many musicians from all over the globe with so many different styles and techniques made me see and believe even more in my musicality and what I was learning. It was very important for my development to be in a place where I could breathe only music, and MI gave me that opportunity.”

“More and more of the auditions I’m having for recording artists are turning out to be MI class reunions. The graduates of MI have been dominating the new, young music scene in LA”.
