Jose Aponte Touring with Top Reggaeton Artist Ivy Queen

Jose Aponte (Bass) returned to his native Puerto Rico after graduating from MI in 1990 and has since become one of the busiest players on the island. Currently on tour with Top Reggaeton female artist Ivy Queen, Jose’s career took off in 1992 when he recorded with legendary trumpet player Andres “Maco” Torres. While playing with Maco, he met piano player Miguel Monserrat, who asked Jose to join his tropical jazz group, Luna Llena. Jose appeared on Luna Llena’s self-titled album, played in the most renowned clubs in Puerto Rico, and at the 1996 Puerto Rico Heineken Jazzfest. Since then, his talent and versatility have led him to play on gigs and recordings with some of the biggest names in Christian, jazz, and Reggaeton, including Wisin y Yandel, Tego Calderon, Don Omar, Jowell y Randy, Miguelito, Naldo, Arcangel, and Rakim y Ken-Y.
