Jon Ketchum Touring with Taio Cruz

|    Jan 06, 2012

Jon Ketchum (Guitar) is currently touring with UK-based singer-songwriter-producer Taio Cruz. Jonathan won the gig after  being referred for the audition by MI Music Business instructor and Hiring Hall Director, Barry Squire.

Since joining Cruz’ touring band in October, Jonathan has performed on AOL Sessions, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, NBC Giving Awards, American Music Awards, and X Factor Germany, as well as an acoustic session in New York for RollingStone.com and a performance on Dick Clarke’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest. In December, he also performed with Taio on a US promo tour including a show at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles for KIIS FM’s 2011 Jingle Ball. Upcoming dates include shows in Brazil and Mexico.

Jonathan’s previous performing experience includes working with the Disney Channel’s Mitchell Musso, singer-songwriters Alana Grace (Fragile Heart Records), BC Jean (RCA) and Mandi Perkins (Sony/Victor), a gig that resulted from an MI Hiring Hall audition in 2007. When not touring with Cruz, he continues to perform in the band {l.a.}godMusic alongside MI grads Kellen Mills (Guitar ’09), Chris Wrate (Guitar ’09), Bryan Lemus (Keyboards/Audio Engineering ’09) and John Watson (Drums ’10). He describes the group as, “part of a Christian ministry that coaches actors, models, musicians and producers in the industry. We formed a band out of it and just put out a record called Shake the Earth.” The album reached #20 on the iTunes “Top 200 Christian Albums” Chart in 2011 (find it  here).
