Joel Hoekstra Completes Arena Tour with Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Joel Hoekstra (Guitar) has kept quite busy since graduating from MI in 1992. In addition to his roles as co-lead guitarist of the popular '80s hard rock band Night Ranger (set to embark on a world tour in 2011) and featured guitarist in the hit Broadway production Rock of Ages, Joel recently completed his first arena tour as lead guitarist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra (click here to see Joel in performance with TSO).

“GIT was very helpful in teaching me not only the musical skills, but also the professionalism required to have a successful career with TSO and other projects,” said Hoekstra. “The faculty gave me advice and guidance that was instrumental in preparing me for the challenges of the music business.”

Despite his constant touring and recording schedule, the guitarist is not planning to take a break any time soon. “When I’m not on the road with Night Ranger, I’ll be back on Broadway. The show is re-opening at the Helen Hayes Theatre on March 24 and I'll be playing eight shows a week.”
