On March 6th, jazz and fusion guitarist David Becker returns to GIT for an afternoon of open counseling. Becker maintains a successful European career as a recording artist, composer and bandleader with seven CDs under his own name including his most recent, a duet with jazz guitar great and former GIT instructor Joe Diorio. He has also recently released a book, Getting Your Improvisation Into Shape (Mel Bay). Becker is also very active in music education, performing masterclasses and workshops around the world.

During his open counseling session, Becker will work with GIT students on their solo phrasing, improving their harmonic and melodic solo development, and getting into "the flow".
