On Thursday, April 10 GIT welcomes Alex Skolnick for an exciting mid-day clinic. Best known for his nine-year association with thrash-metal stars Testament, Alex’s resume also includes six solo CDs and tours with Megadeth, Slayer, Judas Priest, and White Zombie. He has regularly ranked high in guitar magazine polls with awards including ‘Best Thrash Guitarist’ and ‘Most Underrated Guitarist.’ In addition to his accomplishments in metal, Skolnick’s unpredictable career has included recordings and tours as a jazz guitarist leading his own trio. Other collaborations include Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Stu Hamm, Les Claypool (of Primus),Michael Manring, Ozzy Osbourne, rock band Savatage and more. In 2005, Alex reunited with Testament after a thirteen-year absence for a series of sold-out concerts in Europe and Japan.
