KIT Presents Nick Smith Master Class

On Thursday, October 9, KIT presents a Nick Smith master class. Smith is one of the outstanding keyboard players in contemporary jazz, appearing and recording with such luminaries as Stanley Clarke, Kenny Garrett, Donald Byrd, Marcus Miller, Gary Bartz and Eddie Harris as well as popular artists including Eric Benet, Brandy and the Tonight Show band.
Appearing with Nick will be percussionist Munyungo Jackson (Stevie Wonder, George Howard, Miles Davis, Joe Zawanul, Diane Reeves, Stanley Clarke), drummer Oscar Seaton (Ramsey Lewis, George Benson, Boz Scaggs) and bassist Nedra Wheeler (MI Degree Program instructor with credits ranging from Kenny Burrell, Ella Fitzgerald and Herbie Hancock to Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan and Pat Benatar).
During the master class, Nick will perform with the band to demonstrate the interaction between keyboards and other instruments in a live setting with particular emphasis on using technology to enhance performance.
