At BIT, Putter will debut a new elective beginning with the Winter 2004 quarter. Entitled "20th Century Jazz Bass", in it Putter will explore the compositions of Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, John Coltrane and others, with particular attention to bass lines and harmony. Ernest Tibbs has just returned from a five week European tour with famed jazz guitarist Allan Holdsworth. At BIT, Ernest teaches Fretboard Basics, Reading, and works alongside pianist Carl Schroeder in the legendary Schroeder Live Playing Workshop.
