On Wednesday, April 26, GIT welcomes D'Angelico Guitars for an exciting afternoon event. Known for decades as one of the most important builders of fine jazz guitars, D'Angelico artists include a wide variety of players on today's music scene, including Derek Trucks, Brent Mason, Phil Upchurch, Russell Malone, Taj Mahal and many others. The company will make a range of instruments available for hands-on testing by GIT students, including hot new archtops and thinline models. A mid-day concert by TV-session guitarist Blake Aaron and his band will be followed by D'Angelico presentations and FREE prizes for students in attendance. Truetone Music (Santa Monica) will also be offering GIT students 30% discounts on new D'Angelicos as a symbol of both companies' commitment to supporting jazz guitar education in the schools.
