VIT Welcomes Photographer Karen Bystedt
| Feb 28, 2006
On Tuesday, February 28, VIT welcomes photographer Karen Bystedt for a special seminar on promotional photography for performing artists. Topics will include what the artist should look for in both the photographer and the photograph as well as what producers, managers etc. are looking for. Ms. Bystedt's career started in New York City, where she photographed models and actors while attending NYU Film School. In 1988, she moved to Los Angeles and published a book featuring actors and actresses with unique charm, dedication and drive. The New Breed quickly became an industry reference source for casting directors. Her next book of photographs and interviews, Before They Were Famous, came out in 1997 and garnered media attention from Entertainment Tonight, E Channel, A&E and news channels in Los Angeles, New York and Toronto. "I always get great joy from encouraging and supporting people in following their dreams," she reflects. "In my headshots, I strive to find each person's best angle while capturing that unique personality in my subject. My focus is always on the eyes." For more information about Ms. Bystedt's photography, visit her website.
