VIT Showcases Professional Grads
| Mar 07, 2004
The Vocal Institute of Technology takes over the Alternative Lounge of Hollywood’s Knitting Factory on Sunday, March 7, and Monday, March 8 for Professional Certificate Program final juries. The juries are designed to give Professional Certificate students an opportunity to showcase the skills they’ve accumulated during the previous 18 months. Each student chooses, prepares and performs four songs—originals or covers, all styles—with a professional rhythm section. The extensive preparationa involve writing charts and rehearsing the band as well as assembling a PR package. Grads leave VIT “gig ready” with material and promo in hand. VIT Director Mike Campbell will critique and grade the results while other VIT faculty, fellow students, friends and family are expected to pack the house. The twice-yearly event offers a prime opportunity for visitors to see and hear what VIT is all about. Starting time is 7:00PM each night with a $7.00 cover ($5.00 for students with ID). The Knitting Factory is located at 7021 Hollywood Boulevard, three short blocks west of MI.
