Aug 18, 2005

On Thursday, August 18, VIT proudly presents sensational Brazilian jazz singer Luciana Souza in a special clinic appearance accompanied by legendary Brazilian guitarist Rumero Lubambo.

Souza began her professional career in her native Brazil, becoming a first-call session singer by the age of 15. Since moving to the States, she has appeared on over 30 recordings ranging from jazz to classical and has earned critical acclaim and several Grammy nominations for her solo work. She is also an accomplished educator, with a Masters Degree from the New England Conservatory and a teaching position at the Manhattan School of Music.

Lubambo, also a Brazilian native, moved to New York in 1985 to establish his playing career and quickly moved to the forefront of the Brazilian jazz scene. He has issued a number of recordings under his own name as well as collaborations with artists ranging from Diane Reeves to Yo-Yo Ma.
