Tommy Emmanuel Returns!
| Feb 02, 2006
On Thursday, February 2, GIT is very proud to welcome back acoustic guitar virtuoso Tommy Emmanuel for a special afternoon concert/clinic. During his last appearance in July GIT students and faculty alike were blown away by the Aussie phenomenon's creative, cutting-edge fingerstyle acoustic performance. “I think he’s probably the greatest finger-picker in the world today,” guitar legend Chet Atkins commented a few months prior to his death in 2001. Emmanuel was voted Rolling Stone (Australia) Magazine’s “Most Popular Guitarist” for two consecutive years and has earned four Platinum and three Gold albums among his fifteen releases. Grammy nominee Emmanuel has also performed alongside innumerable musical legends, including Chet Atkins, Eric Clapton, Sir George Martin, Hank Marvin and Joe Walsh.
