Stuart Hamm Named Bass Program Director
| Jul 25, 2011
Renowned electric bass virtuoso Stuart Hamm has been named Director of MI's Bass Program, effective immediately. Stuart first drew acclaim in the late 80's for his work as bassist for guitar superstars Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, who featured his work on albums and tours as they created a new wave of instrumental rock guitar music. As a solo artist, Stuart has recorded six albums and won countless magazine polls, including becoming the first and only person to ever win Guitar Player magazine awards for Best Rock Bassist and Best Jazz Bassist in the same year, a feat he repeated the following year.
Stuart has published four successful instructional courses on bass performance and designed bass guitars for Fender and Washburn as well as develop amplifier designs for Hartke. He continues to tour the world as a solo artist and clinician and with a trio including guitarist Greg Howe and drummer Dennis Chambers.
