Author-Engineer Brian Kehew on "Recording the Beatles"

On Friday, July 23 from 1-3pm in Studio E, MI’s Audio Engineering Department presents Recording the Beatles, a behind-the-scenes look at the studios, equipment, and techniques used by music's most influential group based on fifteen years of research and unparalleled access to Abbey Road studio recordsby producer-engineer-author Brian Kehew.

Brian Kehew is co-author of Recording the Beatles, the definitive guide to Beatles' recording techniques. He has produced records for Fiona Apple (Grammy nomination, Gold Sales award), Kinky (Grammy-nominated) and his own group, The Moog Cookbook. He has mixed many records for Warner Bros including Aretha Franklin, Black Sabbath, Elvis Costello, The Pretenders, Talking Heads, Little Feat, MC5, Jane's Addiction, and the Stooges. As a musician, Brian has performed with The Who, AIR, Hole, and Moog Cookbook. He also works as a technician and programmer for live acts including The Who, UFO, Sparks, Bat for Lashes, The Germs, Heart, Foo Fighters, Motley Crue, Edgar Winter, Maroon 5, Weezer, and Keith Emerson/ELP.
