PIT Summer Gear Extravaganza

Summer at PIT is anything but sleepy, with seminars and other events coming fast. Next up are two chances for PIT students to check out the latest in percussion gear: Orange County Percussion and Friends: On Thursday, July 31st, Orange County Percussion in association with Zildjian Cymbals and drum head manufacturers Remo Inc.are coming to PIT for a massive drum gear presentation.Orange County Percussion is the fastest growing new drum company today, with a reputation for great sound, incredible finishes and extensive shell ply choices. The OCP endorsement list includes some of the biggest drummers in contemporary music, including Travis Barker (Blink 182), Adrian Young (No Doubt), Chad Sexton (311), John Otto (Limp Bizkit), Joey Jordison (Slipknot), John Wysocki (Staind), Allen Shellenberger (Lit), Ray Luzier (David Lee Roth, The Nixons) and many others.For the PIT event, OCP will be displaying several complete drum sets and an array of its unmistakable snare drums. This time, PIT students will be dropping in on the Drum Workshop (DW) factory and headquarters for an exclusive guided tour. The DW tour takes visitors through the complete drum making process from shell manufacturing to finish application and every step in between. At the tour’s end, students will be turned loose in a room filled with DW drums and encouraged to put them through their paces. Don’t try this at home…
