MI Sponsors Music Classes for LA Public School Students at The Grammy Museum

|    Oct 25, 2011

MI and The Grammy Museum have announced the 2011-12 calendar of MI-sponsored free music classes for LAUSD students to be held in the Museum’s intimate Clive Davis Theater.

During the school year, MI’s renowned faculty will provide eight different courses, and MI will be the museum’s sole education sponsor for the month of April. Wide-ranging class topics include Beat Making and Samples, Writing Music for Film and Television, Music Business Careers, Pop Music Lyric Writing Workshop, DIY Music Videos, Ableton Live Loops and more.

The Grammy Museum, which opened its doors in 2008, has become an important force in supporting and preserving music education for LA-area middle and high school students. The museum regularly provides school tours and music classes for students lacking arts education in their own schools due to budget cuts. To learn more about the Grammy Museum, click here.

The first MI class, Music Business Careers, takes place on Tuesday, October 25. For a complete list of The Grammy Museum’s 2011-12 course offerings, click here.
