MI Internships Expanding
| May 16, 2008
Hollywood is located in the heart of the music industry, a fact that translates into unparalleled opportunities for MI students to intern at some of the best-known music firms in the world, and the list is growing all the time. “We’re adding as many as five new companies a week,” said Director of Artist and Career Services Todd Berhorst. “When MI students continually do a good job for companies, word spreads, more positions open up, and “MI” becomes a great asset for your resume – the results are great all around!”
For students in the Music Business Program, guaranteed internships provide real-world working experience that can lead to paid positions after completing the program. Students in other programs may take on industry internships for elective credit, and those enrolled in MI’s Recording Institute of Technology (RIT) have the chance to be placed in some of LA’s top studios, including Westlake, Cherokee, Capitol, Private Island Trax and many others.
Among the multitude of firms now providing internship opportunities for MI students are record companies including Warner, Atlantic, Capitol, Metal Blade, and other major and boutique labels; top booking agencies, publishers, management companies, booking agencies, live venues and a variety of other music-related businesses.
