MI Hosts Tenth Annual Carlos Vega Memorial Concert

On Saturday, December 8 at 8:00pm MI hosts the tenth annual Carlos Vega Memorial Concert. Held every year in memory of the legendary drummer, the concert is open to the public with all proceeds donated to scholarships for up-and-coming drum students. In addition to the concert, events will include an afternoon drum clinic co-sponsored by DW Drums featuring Abe Laboriel, Jr.
The concert, organized by LA keyboard veteran David Garfield, will feature an all-star lineup including (as of press time) Jim Keltner, Abe Laboriel, Jr., Tom Brechtlein and Forrest Robinson (drums); Denny Dias, Lee Ritenour and James Harrah (guitar); John Pena and Carlitos Del Puerto (bass); Lenny Castro, Richie Garcia, Mayuto Correa and Chris Trujillo (Percussion); Alex Ligertwood, Leslie Smith, Jaymes Felix, Moon Calhoun and Rosemary Butler (Vocals); Larry Klimas and Bill Bergman (Sax); Harry Kim and Walt Fowler (Trumpet) plus more special guests (lineup subject to change).
Seating is limited – tickets may be purchased directly from ticketweb or from David Garfield's site (www.creatchy.com). All prepaid ticket holders may attend the drum clinic at 3:00pm and the final scholarship competition at 4:30.
