John Jorgenson Quintet Concert/Clinic

On Wednesday, June 10, guitar virtuoso John Jorgenson and his renowned gypsy-jazz quintet will lead a concert/clinic in MI’s concert hall. Jorgenson, a founding member of the spectacular guitar posse known as the Hellecasters and a lead guitarist for superstars such as Elton John and Barbra Streisand, is perpetuating one of the most exciting guitar styles of all time, gypsy jazz. Whether your main focus is bebop or shred metal, you’ll be thrilled by by the dazzling fretboard pyrotechnics Jorgenson fires off on his Django Rheinhardt-style steel-string guitars. Speaking of Reinhardt, John Jorgenson was recently chosen to portray legendary Gypsy guitarist in the feature film Head in the Clouds.
