Hollywood Pop Academy/MI Gospel Choir to perform at Stevie Wonder Benefit
| Dec 15, 2007
On December 15, 2007 MI’s Gospel Choir joins vocalists from Hollywood Pop Academy (HPA) in a featured performance at Stevie Wonder’s 12th annual “House Full of Toys” benefit concert to be held at LA’s Nokia Theater LA Live.
Wonder’s annual event has become a Los Angeles holiday tradition featuring an extensive turnout of stars both on stage and in the audience. This year, Wonder has bestowed a special honor on HPA and MI by showcasing their choir performances. Under the direction of MI voice instructor Delbi Smart assisted by MI instructor Anika Paris (pictured R/L with Wonder), more than 30 HPA students will join 30 MI Gospel Choir students to perform “We Are the World” as the show opener, then joined by an additional 20 MI percussion students the massed choir will close the show with Ms. Smart’s arrangement of “A Time to Love,” with Wonder himself joining in.
For those who miss Stevie’s benefit show, the Gospel Choir will also perform a more extensive program at Musicians Institute at 7:00pm on December 17.
