On Tuesday, April 21, GIT welcomes the return of Swedish guitar virtuoso Andreas Oberg, considered by many to be one of the hottest young masters of jazz guitar in the world, for an afternoon of open counseling. GIT students can sit down face to face, guitar to guitar with Oberg and be treated to a stunning display of exceptional bebop chops, “Hot Club” Gypsy melodies, ferocious genre-hopping, technical facility, and chord-melody mastery. Oberg has performed with Les Paul, Toots Thielemans, Bireli Lagrene, Larry Coryell, Barbara Hendricks, John Pisano, and other contemporary jazz icons.
