Guitar Legend Jimmy Wyble Joins GIT Staff Apr 16, 2007
GIT is proud to welcome one of the guitar world’s all-time greats to its teaching staff. Following a very well-received clinic appearance last month, Jimmy has signed on for weekly Open Counseling sessions where he can share his insights with GIT students in intimate small-group lessons.
Wyble’s discography and touring credits span the gamut of Western Swing and Jazz; from Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys to Benny Goodman, Red Norvo, Frank Sinatra, Barney Kessel, and Tony Rizzi's Five Guitars. Many of his peers consider him a genius talent, and his students have included such guitar luminaries as GIT founder Howard Roberts and LA session ace-Toto guitarist Steve Lukather. Jimmy was a GIT visiting clinician in the program's early days and is the author of the authoritative and highly acclaimed book, The Art of Two-Line Improvisation.
