GIT Staff Adds New Teachers

GIT is pleased to welcome several outstanding new teachers to help meet this fall's expanding enrollment. New additions to the GIT staff include: Drew Zingg (pictured) Drew is best known for his work as the guitarist for Steely Dan, and has also recorded and toured with Boz Scaggs, Michael McDonald, Phoebe Snow and Lucy Kaplansky, among many others. Beginning this fall, Drew will be conducting a series of Open Counseling sessions for GIT students. Julian Coryell Julian has performed and toured with Aimee Mann, Louise Goffin, Billy Cobham, Carole King and Richard Bona, including many national TV appearances and record dates. He is equal parts performer, record producer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist, engineer and composer. Juian's latest alternative rock/pop CD Rockstar was just released on United Musicians/Sony to critical acclaim. Find out more about Julian at www.juliancoryell.net Yogi Prior to his most recent gig as guitarist for The Wallflowers, Yogi worked with such noted artists as Kid Rock, Third Eye Blind, Fuel, Evan & Jaron and Meredith Brooks as well as Buckcherry, who noted,"Yogi's the schooled guy. He's brought a huge sense of musicality to everything we do. He's got a great ear and is a phenomenal player." Yogi is also credited with producing the Jazz Hip Hop album In the Pocket as well as other Acid Jazz compilation CDs. Early in 2002, he recorded with Verve recording artist Action Figure Party and supported the album with a tour of the Blue Note Clubs in Japan. At GIT, Yogi teaches private lessons and open counseling.
